This role is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in RF communication systems and work on advanced development projects.
About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a System Engineering Intern. In this position, you will have the chance to work on various projects, including IOT, 5G, MIMO, CA, ET, UWB, baseband predistortion, antenna tuning, etc.

You will be responsible for making optimum tradeoffs between performance, size, cost, and schedule for RF front-end products targeting mobile handsets. Additionally, you will work with QORVO Systems Architects on advanced development projects and collaborate with a cross-functional team to guide integration of functional blocks (Power Amplifiers, LNA, acoustic filters, SOI switches) into a module.
Responsibilities
• Performing and helping develop RF communication system simulations and level-plan analyses using a variety of software tools to capture component-level and block-level requirements for transmit/receive functions.
• Using MATLAB, SystemVue, Excel, and other tools to simulate and analyze RF components in the context of cellular phones.
• Making optimum tradeoffs between performance, size, cost, and schedule for RF front-end products targeting mobile handsets.
• Working with QORVO Systems Architects on a variety of advanced development projects including IOT, 5G, MIMO, CA, ET, UWB, baseband predistortion, antenna tuning, etc.
• Working as a member of a cross-functional team to guide integration of functional blocks (Power Amplifiers, LNA, acoustic filters, SOI switches) into a module.
Qualifications
• Currently pursuing an MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• RF communication systems coursework and/or experience, including the successful completion of Communications Theory and Signal Processing Design courses.
• Understanding of receiver design considerations including signal-to-noise ratio, cascaded noise-figure, sensitivity, blocking, and intermodulation.
• Understanding of transmitter design considerations including digital modulation (QPSK/QAM/etc.), I/Q constellations, noise, spectral-regrowth, harmonics.
• Exposure to RF measurement equipment such as spectrum analyzers and network analyzers preferred.
• Software Exposure: MATLAB, Excel, SystemVue, ADS, VSS (or similar simulation tools).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Effective organizational skills for systematic planning and scheduling.
• Detail oriented to ensure design and delivery of high yielding products.
• Self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills to convey complex technical information.
• Ability to enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
