About the role:

We are seeking a dedicated Project Manager, Hardware Engineering to manage hardware development and design transfer for our cutting-edge diagnostic platform. You will be responsible for project managing the complete product lifecycle for hardware components, from design verification and prototyping through to final manufacturing and optimization. This role may be right for you if you thrive in high-pressure environments and possess the technical and organizational skills to manage complex hardware development projects across diverse engineering and operational teams.

What you'll do:


  • Lead the project management of hardware development milestones, from prototype iterations through to design for manufacturing (DFM).
  • Coordinate hardware-focused efforts across engineering (mechanical, electrical, firmware), manufacturing, and supply chain teams.
  • Facilitate release of the Bill of Materials (BOM) and engineering change orders (ECOs) throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Track and communicate project timelines, risks, blockers, and dependencies to ensure the successful transfer of design to manufacturing and future optimization.
  • Proactively identify gaps in planning, working with technical leads to ensure resource allocation is aligned with both immediate priorities and overall company goals
  • Facilitate vendor management and coordination with internal partners for component sourcing and manufacturing processes.
  • Other project related duties, as required.

What you'll need:


  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering).
  • PMP certification is considered an asset, but not mandatory.
  • Proven experience managing complex hardware development projects, preferably in a regulated life sciences or manufacturing environment.
  • Technical understanding of the hardware development lifecycle (e.g., prototyping, DV, PV, DFM).
  • Demonstrated strategic foresight to identify potential challenges and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage compressed timelines and complex supply chain dependencies simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills to manage stakeholder and internal/external team expectations and requirements.
  • Creativity and a solutions-focused mindset.

Compensation will be determined based on the individual’s demonstrated experience, education, training, relevant certifications or licensure, and other applicable business and organizational factors.

This role is an onsite, 6-month contract vacancy with the possibility of extension or conversion into a full time role.
