The Project Engineer plays a critical role in assisting the Project Manager on various projects and serves as a liaison between the field and office teams. Key responsibilities include planning, executing, and finalizing projects within set schedules while maintaining budgetary constraints.

To ensure a well-rounded experience, interns are exposed to diverse project types, construction phases, and project teams.
Duties and Scope
• Develop relationships with project managers, subcontractors, engineers, and vendors to foster a team-oriented approach and lay the foundation for a career in the construction industry.
• Collaborate with superintendents to track materials and maintain positive relationships with vendors for coordination and close-out purposes.
• Serve as a champion of the Helix safety culture, monitoring and encouraging jobsite safety and accident prevention.
• Engage in the Change Order process and familiarize yourself with Accubid to assist with estimating.
• Partner with project teams to analyze subcontract agreements, better understanding scope of work and project pricing.
• Involved with material and equipment procurement.
• Closely collaborate with the BIM department and participate in the coordination and planning process.
• Produce and maintain detailed job logs (transmittals, submittals, RFIs).
• Exposure to quality control and monitoring.
• Manage labor schedules by working closely with superintendents and project managers.
• Create and order prefabricated assemblies to enhance planning and timely delivery.
• Walk jobs, gain knowledge of the trade, and apply it to improve overall company performance.
Qualifications
• Enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
• Previous construction or internship experience is preferred.
• Highly motivated with a tendency to take initiative.
• Basic math skills with ability to calculate and analyze data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Able to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Mindset for continuous improvement of department processes.
