To continue our growth, we are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Product Development Engineer to join our innovation-driven team. This role bridges mechanical engineering with embedded systems, requiring a professional who can design, build, and control physical prototypes, write code to support functional logic, and connect a wide variety of sensors, actuators, and microcontroller-based systems. The ideal candidate will play a key role in developing algorithmic solutions for domestic laundry products (e.g., washing machines and dryers), incorporating mechanical, electrical, and software integration.

This role is fully onsite, Monday through Friday, and located in Louisville, Kentucky.

This role requires minimal travel (less than 5%), both domestic and international.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and implement functional algorithms for laundry appliances, focusing on washing machines and dryers.
• Build and test working prototypes, integrating mechanical parts with sensors, input/output devices, and microcontrollers.
• Use LabVIEW for data acquisition, instrumentation control, and automated testing of prototypes.
• Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code in Python, C, or C++, enabling data processing, control logic, or communications with embedded systems.
• Develop and test solutions using platforms such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or similar embedded development boards.
• Coordinate and collaborate with electrical and mechanical design teams to achieve seamless integration across product subsystems.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in algorithm development for electromechanical or consumer products.
• Proficiency in LabVIEW for data acquisition and automated testing.
• Strong programming skills in Python, with additional experience in C or C++ considered a strong asset.
• Hands-on experience working with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or other microcontroller platforms.
• Solid understanding of sensor integration, signal processing, and basic PCB-level wiring and circuit design.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in both software and hardware development.
• Ability to communicate clearly across cross-functional teams and document technical solutions effectively.
• Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple development tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Conduct rigorous validation and verification of developed systems, ensuring robustness, reliability, and compliance with product requirements.
• Provide ongoing technical support and documentation throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Keep up to date with the latest advances in embedded systems, sensor technologies, and automation techniques in the appliance industry.
