Experience Level: 15+ Years | Employment Type: Full-Time Direct Hire

Are you an expert in power electronics looking to lead cutting-edge aerospace programs? We're seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to take technical ownership of power conversion systems—from concept to production sustainment. In this role, you’ll drive the design and qualification of high-reliability systems like converters, motor controllers, and power supplies for advanced aerospace platforms.

This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys mentoring engineers while ensuring designs meet demanding aerospace standards.

What You’ll Do
• Lead the design, development, and lifecycle support of aerospace-grade power electronics systems, including:
• AC/DC and DC/AC converters
• Motor controllers and actuator drives
• Isolated power supplies and custom magnetics
• Collaborate closely with systems, mechanical, and motor design teams to define architecture and optimize electrical performance
• Perform detailed circuit design and simulation (analog/digital), including validation in lab environments
• Generate technical documentation: specifications, compliance reports, and proposal material
• Guide junior engineers and provide technical oversight in design reviews and project execution
• Ensure designs align with aerospace standards and certification requirements

What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s or PhD preferred)
• 15+ years of hands-on experience in power electronics development, ideally in the aerospace or defense sector
• Strong background in actuator systems and motor controller design
• Experience with design and layout tools like Altium Designer
• Proficiency in simulation tools: MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, PSIM
• Deep understanding of EMI/EMC and compliance standards (MIL-STD-461/464, DO-160, MIL-STD-704)
• Familiarity with DO-254, DO-178, ARP4754/ARP4761 for certification
• Experience with digital communication protocols: CAN, ARINC-429/664, SPI, I²C, USB, RS-232/485
• Ability to lead trade studies, risk assessments, and design-to-cost evaluations

Preferred Qualifications
• Active or previous Security Clearance
• Experience with project or technical leadership
• Exposure to vendor and supplier qualification processes
• Involvement in proposal support or pre-contract technical engagements
• Skilled in root cause analysis and corrective action processes

Why Join Us?
• Lead high-visibility projects with real-world aerospace applications
• Work with a collaborative, cross-functional team of experts
• Contribute to the full product lifecycle—from R&D to flight-ready systems
• Mentor future leaders in power electronics

If you're ready to take ownership of mission-critical designs and work at the forefront of aerospace innovation, we’d love to hear from you.
