We are looking for an Electrical Engineer that has a diverse background with hardware and systems. The work that you will be supporting will be for power inverters and charging systems for an OEM. The Electrical Engineer will be onsite in Van Buren Township.
• Provide technical delivery of electrical and electronic projects.
• Deliver projects on time in budget.
• Responsible for system design, development, and validation of electrical and electronic systems.
• Detailed electrical circuit design.
• Support of PCB layout.
• Generation of product and test specifications.
• Liaison with mechanical engineering with regard to enclosure design.
• Support of prototype and volume manufacture.
• Prototype debug and test.
• Technical support of the sales team.
• Communicate directly with clients on technical issues.
• Liaise with suppliers/subcontractors to develop specifications and solutions.
Key Competencies and Experience
The successful candidate will have most of the following:
• Degree in an Electrical/Electronics Engineering discipline.
• Ability to design analogue, digital and power electronics systems.
• Familiar with product delivery process from requirements capture through to design validation.
• Experience in compliance engineering to external standards, such as EMC, vehicle safety etc.
• Strong teamwork, organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
Additional skills that would be advantageous include:
• Experience in design for manufacture.
• Experience in a schematic entry, ideally using Altium Designer.
• Experience using schematic simulation tools - pSpice, LTSpice based.
• Electronic circuits design knowledge.
• Electronics Manufacturing and Test Experience.
• Experienced in automotive electronics design.
• Experience in delivering DFMEA for design.
• Worst Case Circuit Analysis.
• Previous experience in designing products using 8, 16 or 32bit microcontrollers.
• Experience of schematic capture packages.
• Basic understanding of the requirements of electronics packaging.
