Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated PCB/laminate Designer to join our team in the UK. You will be responsible for creating schematics, designing, and optimizing layouts for laminates of our laminate-based multi-chip modules and various types of test PCBs. This role requires close collaboration with RF-engineers and IC designers to achieve optimal solutions meeting all relevant cost, size, and performance targets. You will also coordinate the assembly of our products on Test PCBs and assist in testing the assembled PCBs.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Layout:

  • Collaborate closely with the engineering team to create application-specific schematics.
  • Develop symbols, footprints, and models for custom components.
  • Design and optimize layouts for PCBs and laminate-based modules.
  • Work with the engineering team to ensure designs are functional and reliable.
  • Establish and maintain Design Rule Checking (DRC) processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.
  • Create required documentation to facilitate design reviews.

Support:

  • Arrange the timely delivery of off-the-shelf components and coordinate the assembly of our products on test PCBs.
  • Assist in electrical testing of hardware.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electronics or a related field.
  • Demonstrable experience with PCB layouts for RF products.
  • Experience with product development milestones and review processes.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with layout software or tools.
  • Strong understanding of DRC checking processes.
  • Ability to support and conduct electrical testing of hardware.

People Skills:

  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality designs.
