Job Description:
Our client is seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager with an FPGA/Digital Design background to support the development of secure tactical communication products.
The candidate will manage and lead a team of embedded FPGA engineers developing FPGA firmware for wireless communication system applications and products.
The candidate must have 8+ years of experience in FPGA/Firmware development, as well as experience in technical team and project leadership.
The candidate will be responsible for managing resources, schedules, and budgets for firmware development projects.
They will work with cross-functional teams to define, design, and verify FPGA solutions for radio product development projects.
The candidate will oversee supervisorial tasks and career development of direct reports.
Essential Functions:
Management responsibilities for a team of FPGA engineers, including goal setting, timecard responsibilities, development plans, and training.
Driving team work to delivery completion and monitoring team metrics.
Maintaining and improving FPGA development processes.
Creating FPGA development cost estimates and schedules.
Managing budgets and schedules of assigned projects.
Ability to obtain a security clearance (US Citizen).
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant FPGA/ASIC embedded system experience, or
Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or
In lieu of a degree, at least 13 years of relevant FPGA/ASIC embedded system experience.
Additional Skills:
Experience in VHDL/Verilog coding for synthesis.
Experience in FPGA/ASIC verification using SystemVerilog.
Experience with UVM/OVM verification methodologies.
Experience developing cryptographic security solutions for communication products.
Experience in certification of Type1/Type3 Secure products.
Demonstrated project leadership and management skills in embedded system and FPGA/ASIC design.
Knowledge of FPGA/ASIC development and verification processes.
Motivated self-starter, team player, willing to lead and mentor.
Strong technical writing and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with remote teams.
