Lead Electrical Engineer - Power & Energy Systems (Columbia, SC or Remote)

Objectives:

• Provide technical leadership for electrical power system research and development

• Build technical roadmaps, identify emerging technologies, and drive innovation in integrated power systems, energy management, and shipboard electrification

• Develop engineering talent and support a culture of technical excellence

Responsibilities:

• Lead technical execution of power system research and development projects

• Serve as a technical authority for electrical power and energy systems

• Support customer engagement, technical proposals, and strategic partnerships

• Identify and implement innovative technologies, tools, and methodologies

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoW Secret Clearance

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

• 10+ years of professional experience in electrical power systems

• Advanced knowledge of integrated power systems, power conversion, energy storage, and electrical distribution technologies

• Expertise in laboratory testing, system integration, and data-driven validation

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to produce clear technical reports and give concise briefings to senior military and executive stakeholders.

Preferred Skills and qualifications:

• Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline

• 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in naval power systems

• Demonstrated experience providing technical guidance to multidisciplinary engineering teams and complex research programs

• Strong ability to develop technical strategies and roadmaps for innovative technologies and research programs
