Our diverse engineering client founded in 1964 and headquartered in central New Jersey supports their Building Technologies business by providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection (MEP&FP) and structural engineering, insurance/forensics investigations, project management and construction management services. Engineering staff includes multi-disciplined professionals licensed in twenty-six states, as well as LEED Accredited Professionals, Certified Energy Auditors and Certified Energy Managers. Construction management staff is comprised of licensed building inspectors, mechanical inspectors, certified building plan examiners, registered roofing observers, and reserve specialists certified by the Community Association Institute. Their team of engineers is experienced in all facets of building engineering for every type of building.

Description:

IMMEDIATE NEED for an Electrical Design Engineer with six or more years of electrical design and engineering in electrical building design. The Electrical Engineer will assist in preparing design drawings and specifications for all elements of building electrical system design, with a significant focus on electrical power distribution and lighting design. Work in Point Pleasant on a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities:
• Perform Electrical Engineering and design, including risers, wiring diagrams, lighting layout, physical layout of conduits and cable trays, alarms, security, electrical calculations, etc.
• Most work will consist of 120V/208V and 277/480V three phase power systems, and will involve designing power distribution for commercial, educational, and institutional buildings.
• Assist in field surveys of existing conditions, performing load calculations, and detailed CAD and Revit drafting.
• Design and specifications of appropriate equipment and systems.
• Prepare electrical design for a variety of projects using AutoCAD.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
• EIT or preparing to take the FE exam.
• Willingness to obtain a PE License at some point in time (desired, not required)
• Minimum of six (6)+ years or more working in the MEP environment.
• Proficiency in all aspects of electrical design with a thorough interest in building design and construction.
• AutoCAD required.
• Revit desired.
• Candidates must be able to perform occasional field observations using ladders, stairs to access the site.
• Valid US driver’s license

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
