L3Harris is currently seeking a highly skilled power supply design engineer who will join the design team to contribute to the growing power conversion circuit card design needs. The designer will apply their knowledge designing low and high voltage, high frequency switch mode power supplies under the supervision of a senior power supply engineer. The individual must work with other engineering disciplines to assure power supply designs meet the power, thermal, emissions and safety requirements of the system requirements.
Essential Functions:
• Design AC/DC power converters
• Design DC/DC power converters
• Design power distribution architectures
• Design and analyze EMI filters
• Analyze analog/power circuits for stability, efficiency, power draw, in-rush, etc.
• Write specifications and test approaches for power supply circuit designs
• Select components for discrete power converter designs, or modules for systems
• Create schematics for analog/power circuits, support printed circuit card design
• Conduct and participate in internal peer design reviews, design verification testing of engineering units and oversight of design into production
• Perform analog and power testing in a laboratory setting for development components and circuit cards
• Work in conjunction with multi-disciplinary engineering teams for digital, RF, mechanical and systems engineers on the overall program/project performance
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant (Power Supply, Electrical Engineering) experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience
