Platform has partnered with a fast-growing technology company developing cutting-edge RF transmitter systems for high-performance, defense-grade applications. They’re now seeking a Senior FPGA Engineer to lead the design and integration of complex digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms into FPGA-based platforms.
This is a high-impact, hands-on engineering role for someone who thrives on tackling deep technical challenges and driving innovation in real-time embedded systems.
Main Duties:
• Architect, design, and implement FPGA-based DSP systems for RF transmission
• Own the entire FPGA lifecycle: simulation, synthesis, implementation, and timing closure
• Work closely with hardware and software teams on high-speed board-level designs
• Define software-hardware interface requirements within FPGA platforms
• Prototype, test, and debug FPGA designs using lab tools (oscilloscopes, signal/spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, etc.)
• Support system integration, field installations, and design documentation
Skills and Experience Required:
• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of FPGA/DSP experience
• Strong with Xilinx FPGA toolchains (Vivado & ISE), VHDL design required
• Proven experience with Xilinx 7 series, PCle, DDR3, and high-speed memory interfaces
• Expertise in real-time DSP techniques: interpolation/decimation, FFT, NCOs, Hilbert transforms
• Experience interfacing A/D and D/A converters for RF waveform generation
• Confident working across the hardware/software boundary (Linux host, PCle endpoint)
• Familiar with version control systems and reusable FPGA design practices
• Solid understanding of high-speed digital design and PCB layout principles
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have):
• Experience in RF system design (high-speed or high-power)
• Background in Matlab/Simulink modeling
• Ability to write basic C/Linux software for FPGA testing
• Knowledge of IEEE-1588 time sync standards
• Familiarity with FMC modules and custom carrier board development
What You’ll Get:
• Competitive compensation: $120K–$180K base
• Access to top-tier RF projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Work alongside an expert team pushing the limits of signal processing and embedded systems
• Opportunity to directly influence the architecture and performance of next-gen RF systems
If this sounds like your next challenge, please send over your résumé. We’d love to hear from you.
