MRI Technologies has an exciting opportunity for a Facility Electrical Engineer on the JETS II contract at NASA Johnson Space Center. In this role, you will support the design, integration, and operation of ground test facilities that enable human spaceflight development, working alongside NASA civil servants, multidisciplinary engineering teams, and teammate company Bastion to deliver reliable electrical and control systems for the Crew and Thermal Systems Division's System Test Branch (EC4). EC4 develops, operates, and maintains ground test facilities supporting crew systems, life support technologies, thermal control hardware, spacecraft power systems, and flight-relevant environmental testing.
A typical day involves designing, building, and troubleshooting electrical and control systems for test facilities-ranging from power distribution and instrumentation to safety interlocks and data acquisition. In the morning you may be developing PLC- and HMI-based control architectures for automated test operations, or producing electrical schematics and wiring diagrams in compliance with NASA and JSC safety standards. In the afternoon you could be integrating sensors and data acquisition hardware for facility monitoring, troubleshooting components such as pumps, valves, relays, and pressure/temperature instrumentation, or supporting end-to-end system checkout and verification activities. You might also be collaborating with mechanical, thermal, and power engineering teams, participating in design reviews and hazard analysis, or operating test facilities during technology development campaigns that directly support NASA's human spaceflight missions. The work is hands-on, technically demanding, and tied to enabling safe exploration beyond Earth.
