Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with strong external sales experience to join their team in Roodepoort. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving business development, maintaining client relationships, and providing technical solutions to customers within the electrical infrastructure and industrial sectors. This role requires a technically skilled professional with the ability to combine engineering expertise with commercial sales capability.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and develop new business opportunities within the electrical and industrial sectors.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients across mining, rail, power, and manufacturing industries.
Provide technical sales support and electrical engineering solutions to meet client requirements.
Prepare technical proposals, quotations, and tender documentation.
Conduct client visits, site meetings, and technical presentations.
Work closely with internal engineering and technical teams to ensure appropriate product and solution delivery.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies.
Achieve sales targets while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Industry Background (Essential)
Candidates should come from companies operating in one or more of the following sectors: Electrical / Power Equipment
Switchgear manufacturers
Protection relay companies
Electrical component suppliers
Industrial Electrical Sales
Companies supplying electrical equipment into mining, rail, power generation, utilities, or manufacturing sectors.
Candidates should ideally have experience in:
Electrical engineering or application engineering roles
Technical sales or business development within industrial electrical markets
Minimum Qualifications
BEng / BEngTech / BTech in Electrical Engineering OR
National Diploma in Electrical Engineering with strong relevant industry experience.

Strong technical knowledge of electrical equipment and infrastructure
Proven external sales / business development experience
Ability to translate technical solutions into commercial opportunities
