Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Electrical Facilities Engineer to join our Facilities Engineering team. The ideal candidate will assist in the planning, design, maintenance, and operation of electrical systems within commercial, industrial, or institutional facilities. This role offers hands-on experience with power distribution, lighting systems, emergency backup systems, and energy efficiency initiatives, under the guidance of senior engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the maintenance and troubleshooting of facility electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and emergency power.
• Conduct inspections and assessments to ensure electrical systems comply with applicable codes and safety standards.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate projects and resolve technical issues.
• Assist in developing and updating single-line diagrams, electrical layouts, and as-built documentation.
• Participate in energy audits and support sustainability or energy efficiency initiatives.
• Help monitor electrical equipment performance and recommend improvements or upgrades as needed.
• Support project management activities including budgeting, scheduling, and contractor coordination.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Familiarity with electrical systems, codes (e.g., NEC, NFPA), and safety practices.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and under supervision.
• Internship or co-op experience in a facilities or electrical engineering setting is a plus.
• Exposure to facility operations, maintenance, or electrical design.
• Knowledge of building systems such as HVAC, generators, switchgears, power distribution systems, UPS systems, compressors, air handlers.
