Responsibilities
• Electrical systems design
• Preparation of complex calculations
• Load flow and short circuit analysis
• Power flow analysis
• System impact assessments
• Cable ampacity calculations
• Preparation of documented design inputs
• Preparation of equipment and material specifications
• Preparation of design reports
• Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews
• Field verification of designs at plant site locations
Requirements
• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
• Strong academic background in electrical power concepts and power systems analysis
• Understanding of practical application of electrical engineering and technology
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for technical plans and drawings
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
Nice-to-haves
• Internship or work experience in performing power analysis, preferably in the power industry
• Experience performing transient analysis of power systems using software such as ETAP or SKM
