Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking Embedded Firmware Engineer to lead the design, development, and integration of advanced embedded firmware and hardware solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in embedded architecture, firmware development, hardware-firmware integration, and system-level testing. In this role, you will contribute to processor selection, firmware design, smart power electronics integration, and the development of custom tools and systems used for calibration and validation. A strong focus on reliability, scalability, and maintainability is essential, along with hands-on experience in simulation, automated testing, and system modeling.
Key Responsibilities:
• Define and document system requirements in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize system integration and performance
• Analyze and map current legacy architecture(s) to identify upgrade paths.
• Evaluate and select modern microcontrollers using structured decision tools.
• Design modular firmware architecture with RTOS, version control, and CI/CD integration.
• Develop and support firmware for custom calibration and test systems across NPD, manufacturing, and quality.
• Conduct code reviews, documentation, and unit testing to ensure reliability and maintainability
• Implement hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and firmware-in-the-loop (FIL) testing, automated test frameworks, and code simulation.
• Use MATLAB and Simulink for system modeling and validation.
• Formulate and execute test plans, analyze results, and deliver test reports.
• Coordinate with suppliers for evaluation kits, documentation, and long-term component support.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in embedded systems design and development.
• Strong proficiency in embedded C/C++, microcontroller architectures, and real-time systems.
• Experience with hardware-software integration and debugging tools.
• Hands-on experience with HIL/FIL testing, automated test systems, and simulation tools.
• Proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink-State flow for system modeling and validation.
• Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of communication protocols and hardware interfaces
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Experience in agile development environments
• Experience on STM32 ,STMCUBEMX ,STMCUBEIDE
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods
• Regular exposure to manufacturing areas requiring personal protective equipment
Work Environment:
• Office environment with regular exposure to manufacturing areas
• Speak and listen to others in person and over the phone
• Use keyboard and read from computer screen and reports
• Predictable and reliable attendance required
• Position requires 40 hours/5 days a week in-person at the Company’s facility
