A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As an Electronics Engineer at MKS Ophir, you will join the Beam Profiling R&D team to develop new solutions to complex opto-mechanical problems. In this role, you will report to the Hardware Engineering Manager.
You Will Make an Impact By:
Defining electrical requirements for new projects
Designing circuit schematics
Working with layout and production service providers to produce PCBs
Debugging and improving real-time software (firmware)
Troubleshooting electrical issues from the field
Researching technologies and implementing new designs
Documenting designs and tests
Skills You Bring:
B.Sc. in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field
3 + years of experience in PCB design and production
Experience in schematic design using Altium/OrCAD or similar
Understanding of electronics design principles
Working knowledge of C/C++ or similar coding language
Familiarity with common microprocessors
Understanding of wired communication protocols (SPI, UART, I2C, etc.)
Experience with laboratory equipment (oscilloscope, function generator, multimeter, etc.)
Skilled at hand-soldering and small-scale re-work
Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
High level of written and spoken English, including full comprehension of technical datasheets
Willingness to spend significant periods of time on sustaining projects for previous designs
Preferred Skills:
Experience maintaining large databases of components
Proven experience writing and/or debugging real-time code (firmware)
Experience with FPGA programming
5 years or more experience in a similar role
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Must be available to work full-time in Jerusalem, 5 days a week
