Full-time
On-site
$90,000 - $120,000 USD yearly
Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Reliability Engineer to lead the reliability, maintenance strategy, and long-term performance of low and medium voltage electrical systems across a complex utility infrastructure. This role will be central to supporting ongoing operations, strategic capital upgrades, and system expansions across a high-demand industrial environment.

The ideal candidate will combine technical depth with hands-on experience in power distribution systems, electrical asset management, and engineering design and analysis. This is a visible, impact-driven role for someone who thrives on solving complex electrical challenges and ensuring safe, continuous operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain a long-term electrical reliability strategy to support future infrastructure growth and customer demand.
• Serve as the lead technical expert in low and medium voltage (110V to 34.5KV) power distribution systems, substations, switchgear, cable systems, generators, and motor controls.
• Perform power system studies including short circuit analysis, load flow, voltage drop, equipment protection, coordination, arc flash, and power quality diagnostics.
• Drive predictive and preventive maintenance initiatives across all electrical assets to improve system uptime and reduce unplanned outages.
• Lead and support capital and maintenance projects from concept through implementation — including budgeting, contractor oversight, and commissioning.
• Collaborate with NYISO and utility providers on technical requirements for interconnection, metering, and generation modeling.
• Provide support for building system reliability including UPS, lighting, HVAC controls, and low-voltage distribution equipment.
• Partner with operations, EHS, and facilities teams to ensure all work complies with electrical safety standards (NFPA, OSHA).
• Assist in the development and use of CMMS tools (e.g., Maximo) for tracking and improving asset performance and reliability.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 7-10 years of experience in electrical systems reliability, design, and maintenance within industrial, utility, or power generation environments.
• Strong working knowledge of electrical safety standards (e.g., NFPA 70E, NEC).
• Familiarity with SKM Power Tools, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and CMMS platforms (Maximo preferred).
• Project management experience with capital or maintenance projects involving electrical upgrades or system optimization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder reporting.
