About the position
GE Vernova Power Conversion is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Electrical Hardware Design Engineer. In this role, you will be an integral part of our engineering team, focusing on the design and development of innovative power electronic systems and automation packages. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of our products, ensuring they meet customer specifications and industry standards. As an Electrical Hardware Design Engineer, you will interpret customer and engineering specifications, applying them to specific designs. You will have the opportunity to design electrical hardware for variable frequency drives and automation packages, which includes operator stations, remote IO cabinets, controller cabinets, and low voltage AC and DC drive packages. Your work will involve creating detailed electrical designs using software tools such as AutoCAD, E-Plan, and/or Creo, based on provided specifications while collaborating closely with other engineers. In addition to design responsibilities, you will directly support manufacturing builds, ensuring smooth production processes and timely delivery of products. You will interface with other engineers to gather requirements, understand project objectives, and develop effective solutions. Your role will also include contributing to the continuous improvement of design processes and methodologies, selecting standard components and hardware for designs, and preparing bills of material to ensure that the factory has a complete "for manufacture" package. Maintaining all manufacturing documentation and information will also be part of your responsibilities.
Responsibilities
• Interprets customer and engineering specifications and office standards as they apply to specific designs.

• Design electrical hardware for variable frequency drives and automation packages, including operator stations, remote IO cabinets, controller cabinets, low voltage AC and DC drive packages.

• Create detailed electrical designs using AutoCAD, E-Plan, and/or Creo, based on provided specifications and working collaboratively with other engineers.

• Directly support manufacturing builds, ensuring smooth production processes and timely delivery of products.

• Interface with other engineers to gather requirements, understand project objectives, and develop effective solutions.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and methodologies.

• Selects standard components and hardware for designs.

• Prepares bills of material, so that in conjunction with electrical schematics and mechanical layouts the factory has a full 'for manufacture' package. Maintains all manufacturing documentation and information.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices.

• Knowledge of ASME Y14.5.
,
• Experience with power electronics or automation systems.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, E-Plan, or Creo, or a similar CAD software.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
