MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. Electrical Engineering or closely related field
  • 0-3 years’ experience 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree is a plus, but not required
  • Strong preference for candidates with hands-on academic or personal projects (e.g., senior design, internships, hobby builds, research labs) demonstrating end-to-end system development

ABOUT THE JOB!

The Enterprise Research and Development (ERD) organization is seeking an early-career Electrical Engineer to support rapid prototyping, technology exploration, and proof-of-concept system development.

This role is hands-on and project-driven, focused on evaluating emerging technologies and translating ideas into functional hardware. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, adaptable, and motivated to learn across multiple electrical engineering domains.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Design, build, and iterate electronic circuits and subsystems (analog, digital, RF, and power) for proof-of-concept and prototype platforms 

• Perform schematic capture and PCB layout for rapid-turn prototypes and evaluation boards 

• Conduct hands-on bring-up, debugging, and validation of hardware designs 

• Plan and execute experiments to evaluate new technologies and architectures 

• Analyze test data and communicate findings through concise technical reports and presentations 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, software, systems) to integrate prototype solutions 

• Support multiple concurrent small-scale projects with shifting priorities and timelines 

• Contribute to transitioning successful concepts into more mature development efforts 


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


• Foundational understanding across multiple EE domains: analog, digital, and basic RF or embedded systems 

• Experience designing, building, and debugging circuits (breadboard, prototyping, or PCB-based) 

• Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Cadence OrCAD/Allegro or similar) 

• Ability to read and interpret component datasheets and apply them in practical designs 

• Exposure to lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, signal generators) 

• Basic programming/scripting capability (e.g., MATLAB, Python, or similar) for test and data analysis 

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work through ambiguity and incomplete requirements 

• Effective written and verbal communication skills
