Key Responsibilities:
• Apply advanced knowledge of electrical design and drafting techniques, including schematic and diagram generation.
• Perform electrical engineering tasks related to plant construction methods and materials.
• Work independently with guidance from the Department Manager and Senior Designer on complex issues.
• Provide technical direction to drafters and designers.
• Coordinate with drafting and design teams to review submittal packages and customer-furnished information.
• Perform panel loading calculations, load balancing, and sizing for wire/cable, conduits, and trays.
• Develop Bills of Materials (BOM) for projects.
• Maintain close coordination with project shop and field personnel.
• Ensure compliance with company safety standards and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
• Support additional tasks as assigned.
Technical Expertise:
• Experience with multi-disciplinary projects.
• Knowledge of electrical equipment including generators, switchgear, and UPS systems.
• Understanding of industry-standard communication protocols.
• Proficient in interpreting contract specifications and electrical drawing packages.
• Knowledgeable in NFPA standards and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Advanced skills in AutoCAD (2015 Electrical or later; Mechanical experience a plus).
• Working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor 3D CAD or similar (Revit MEP or equivalent).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with estimating software such as Accubid is a plus.
• Experience in emergency power generation and switchgear installation preferred.
• Familiarity with equipment from Caterpillar, Cummins, MTU, and Schneider is advantageous.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Direct experience with structural steel building fabrication and electrical equipment packaging preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with NFPA/NEC standards.
• Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
