The Electrical Engineer Intern/Co-op position at CMTA offers college students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in electrical design within the consulting engineering field. This full-time, onsite role allows interns to work closely with professional engineers, learning to design and implement electrical systems for various building projects. The internship is designed for students pursuing degrees in Electrical or Architectural Engineering, providing them with practical skills and the potential for future employment with the company.
Responsibilities
• Learn and implement the basics of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting & controls, and fire alarm systems.

• Produce detailed layouts and equipment details of electrical systems in buildings.

• Create one-line diagrams and schematics.

• Assist the design team in assembling organized sets of drawings.

• Support data collection and field verification efforts.

• Collaborate with designers and engineers to develop all aspects of a project.
Requirements
• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering, preferably a sophomore or junior.

• Strong interest in Building Systems Electrical Engineering.

• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit is preferred.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Availability to work full time in the Arlington office throughout the co-op term.
