When you join us, you'll receive:
Over the next 24–36 months, you'll combine practical experience with structured classroom learning to develop the knowledge, operational competence and safety authorisations needed to work safely on National Grid's high-voltage transmission network. You'll learn from experienced engineers, gain exposure to a wide variety of operational activities and build the confidence to make sound engineering decisions in safety-critical environments.
Training takes place on site and at our specialist training facility at Eakring in Nottinghamshire, together with other operational locations. This may involve occasional short stays away from home, fully supported by National Grid. Throughout the programme, you'll steadily build your capability, preparing you for a role with greater responsibility and influence across the electricity transmission network.

Once you've successfully completed the programme and achieved Senior Authorised Person (SAP) status, you'll play a leading role in delivering safe and reliable electricity transmission across Great Britain.
