Electrical Engineer
The Global Workplace Solutions group manages a worldwide portfolio of real estate and facilities of nearly two million square feet in the San Francisco Bay Area, one million square feet in Oregon, and potentially adding facilities in Asia in the next two years. Ensuring that all sites operate smoothly without disruption, this group also provides lab services such as gas and chemical delivery, tool installation projects, and cleanroom garments. This group is responsible for conducting all construction and site improvement work to ensure that all work complies with global and local regulatory requirements. This group also provides engineering work to support infrastructure maintenance and construction.
This key position will lead a team to not only achieve these objectives but will also benchmark and measure key performance indicators to pursue progressive improvements, both in service and spending improvement to an annual budget of about $100M in operations and rental expenses.
This position works closely with the Real Estate and Space Planning leadership team to support sound decision making with qualitative and quantitative analysis. Examples include analyses such as financial and qualitative analysis to inform our real estate strategy at a regional and global level, considering factors such as real estate supply, potential headcount growth scenarios, potential new office openings, manufacturing needs. Analyses around leasing vs. buying, subleasing, usage of short-term space vs. long-term leases, and cost of tenant improvements. Continuous improvement of the office, manufacturing, R&D, and warehouse spaces will help improve the efficiency and quality of our workspace, that will improve the productivity of our employees, and that will help attract and retain highly talented employees.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
