About the Role:

Join our Aeternum team to design and develop embedded software for next-generation weather, air quality and environmental sensors. You’ll work hands-on with hardware engineers to build robust, scalable sensor platforms using modern protocols and microcontrollers. This is a unique opportunity to influence architecture and technology choices as we scale our products for real-world deployment.

Essential Requirements:
• Proficient in C and C++ for embedded systems
• Strong understanding of embedded systems architecture and development
• Experience with Zephyr RTOS
• Knowledge of NB-Iot, Lte-M and LoRa wireless technologies
• PCB design

Valuable Additional Experience:
• Familiarity with Nordic Semiconductor chipsets (NRF series)
• Experience implementing and troubleshooting LoRa mesh networks
• Experience with micro to mesoscale mesh networking
• Experience configuring and managing local networks and routers

Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for sensor modules and gateways
• Integrate wireless protocols and optimize for low-power operation
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to bring up new sensor boards and debug hardware/software interfaces
• Develop and document communication protocols and data handling for sensor networks
• Participate in architecture decisions for scalable, modular sensor deployments
• Write clear technical documentation and contribute to project planning and code reviews
• AI modeling on sensor and on cloud/on- premises backend.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in embedded software development
• Experience with real-time operating systems (Zephyr, FreeRTOS, etc.)
• Familiarity with IoT security best practices and over-the-air update mechanisms
• Experience with test-driven development and continuous integration for embedded systems
