Raytheon Australia: Modernising Air Defence Air Traffic Systems.

Raytheon Australia, a trusted partner in Australia's defence industry for over two decades, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Australian Defence Air Traffic System (ADATS) Capability Assurance Program. This critical program involves upgrading Data Processing and Display systems across multiple RAAF sites, ensuring continued operational excellence of Australia's military air traffic control capabilities. As the original installer and current maintainer of ADATS, Raytheon Australia continues to provide engineering, support, and maintenance services, including the integration of modern capabilities to support defence operations.

Join us as we enhance the future of air traffic control. We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the integration and implementation of modern Data Processing and Display (DP&D) system across RAAF sites. Working as part of the ADATS CAP project team, you will focus on design, system integration, testing, safety and all other activities to allow in--Service implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support electrical integration of new Data Processing and Display System with existing ADATS infrastructure, ensuring seamless interface and compliance with system specifications.
  • Contribute to electrical system modifications for console upgrades and communications infrastructure, working with state-of-the-art equipment
  • Participate in system verification activities, including Site Acceptance Test electrical systems.
  • Prepare technical documentation for electrical modifications and support configuration management activities.
  • Collaborate with project teams and subcontractors to ensure successful implementation while maintaining operational excellence.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a significant component of Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in electrical design and system modification.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical design and practical experience with electrical system changes.
  • Demonstrated experience with electrical and data interface standards (RS232, RS422, USB, Ethernet).
  • Strong understanding of AS3000 Wiring Rules and military standard electrical component selection.
  • Desirable:
  • Experience in defence projects within a Systems Engineering environment.
  • Professional membership with Engineers Australia, IEE, or IEEE
  • Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security clearance as needed. Eligibility can be found at https://www.agsva.gov.au/applicants/eligibility-suitability
