Electrical Engineer : Carlisle
Salary: £32,000 - £33,000 + some overtime, pension

MacArthur Recruitment is looking for an experienced time-served / NVQ3 qualified Electrical Engineer to work for a successful design, fabrication and engineering company in Carlisle. This is due to an increase in orders.

Your experience will ideally be from an industrial, manufacturing or similar environment and you’ll hopefully hold, or have held an ECS card. The products are typically fabricated metal, composite, mechanical structures that incorporate electrical controls and other elements.

Summary of the role of Electrical Engineer :
  • Responsible for wiring control panels, reading from wiring schematics or assembly drawings. Training available where required.
  • Required to safely wire electrical control panels to customer / engineering
  • specification, compliant with wiring and design standards.
  • Working to schematic wiring diagrams and General Arrangement Drawings, produce and assist in the production of electrical control panels, either working alone or part of a team.

Key Responsibilities for the role of Electrical Engineer :
  • Assemble electronic / electrical sub-assemblies from schematic diagrams, drawings or verbal instructions and following works order instructions to ISO9001 standards.
  • Wire and solder wiring harness and cable assemblies
  • Perform limited troubleshooting and testing of assemblies
  • Ensures assembly / sub-assembly build times are met to maintain department
  • efficiency target of 100%
  • Ensures assembly / sub assembly build times are met for major project schedule
  • into integration dates and tooling/spares WO completion dates.
  • Carry out job tasks safely using good working practices.
  • Carry out all assembly work to the relevant department quality standards in line with health and safety requirements.
  • Working to Health and Safety standards
  • AC inverter motor experience is a bonus
  • Working with PLC’s and standard control equipment such as relays, MCB’s contactors etc – no experience required

Experience, education / qualifications for the role of Electrical Engineer :
  • Time served, BTEC, NVQ3, equivalent or greater qualification
  • Electrical experience in industrial, commercial, manufacturing or similar commercial systems
  • ECS card holder currently or previously ideally
  • 17th / 18th Edition currently or previously ideally
