Job Description

As an Electrical Engineer you will assist the Engineering team in the maintenance of the ship's electrical equipment in the most efficient manner possible and as per the vessels Safety Management System. Rosters will require a commitment of generally 6 weeks on and 6 weeks off duration. International voyages can be longer rosters.  

What You'll Do

Duties of the role include, but are not limited to: 

  • Maintenance of all electrical motors onboard, generators, main switch board and emergency, switchboard, fire alarm system including fire detectors, general alarm system, PA system, onboard mother vessel and tender boats, AV/IT systems, navigation lights and navigation equipment on mother vessel and tender boats, all batteries fitted on mother vessel and tender boats, air condition system. 
  • Rectifying electrical defects recorded in the hotel defect book daily. 
  • Responsible for refrigeration system and testing of IAS system as required by Class. 
  • Engine room tours and dining with Guests. 
  • Maintenance and upkeep of manuals/drawing as required by AMSA and Class. 

What You'll Bring

The minimum requirements are:  

  • Electrical qualification. 
  • Certificate of Safety Training (CoST) (AMSA endorsed). 
  • Seafarers Book. 
  • AMSA Medical. 
  • Valid Passport. 
  • Passenger ship experience desirable. 

Ability to obtain: 

  • Remote First Aid & Advanced CPR or Medical Ship Care on Board 
  • Working in Confined Spaces 
  • Crowd Control & Crisis Management 
  • Maritime Security Indentification Card (MSIC).

Rosters will require a commitment of up to 6 weeks duration for domestic voyages and up to 8 weeks for international voyages.
