If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are looking for an opportunity to develop your career within the fire and safety industry, we have a great opportunity for you as a Electrical Engineer.      About this role  We have a high visibility opportunity for an Electrical Engineer for our Kidde Business Unit in Navajoa, Mexico. The successful candidate must possess a strong engineering background, product development and technical leadership competencies to successfully support the Signaling life safety product lines. This position is based in Navajoa, Mexico, and will report to the Senior Engineering Manager.      Key Responsibilities:  Design engineer for signaling and detection products at Kidde.   Focus efforts on new product development, value engineering/cost savings, end of life products, improved engineering and /or better performance of the Kidde product portfolio    Application of robust engineering tools e.g. rapid prototyping, DOE, FEA, CFD etc.    Drive DFMEA, identification of critical characteristics and best engineering practices   Proactive support for the Kidde manufacturing site and partner with Operations to ensure deliverables integrate into their systems within the overall product release schedule  Certification authorities for product standards and legislation e.g. Underwriters Laboratory  Develop solutions through the complete product lifecycle, from initial requirements to design, implementation, test, deployment, sustaining & end-of-life stages.  Utilize CAD (SolidWorks) as a tool to create 3D / 2D drawings for product development and ideation purposes    Apply product state-of-the-art analysis tools combined with lab verification testing to create robust products   Use project management skills working as part of a cross functional team   Utilize engineering systems to maintain and manage project documentation e.g. PDXpert       Required Qualifications: Fluent / Advanced English Electrical/Mechatronics/Robotics Engineer – BSME. MSME preferred   Engineering CAD experience, Solid Works preferred    Electronics testing experience preferred  Strong English verbal, written and presentation skills    Competence with MS Office software     This role requires a great level of interpersonal skills.       Qualifications:  5+ years’ experience with manufactured products – high volume consumer and commercial goods preferred    Experience with plastics materials, components and manufacturing processes  Knowledge of robust engineering practices e.g. Design and Process FMEA   Mind-set for “Design for manufacture” and cost avoidance     Experience dealing with Product and Quality Management Systems and Product Lifecyle Familiar with UL certification, engineering standards, automotive quality standards and similar quality systems and root cause analysis processes.  Product development experience in life safety products  Excellent communication, negotiating, and influencing skills to communicate technical issues across functions.  Demonstrated experience applying Design for Safety principles to product design.  Proficient in Microsoft O365, including Excel, PowerPoint, & OneNote  Proficient with PLM and Engineering Change Management tools and processes.  6 Sigma knowledge desirable      Travel Requirements:  Up to 10% including but not limited to USA and Mexico.
