Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Electrical Engineer- Aviation to join our team!
The Electrical Engineer will support the successful delivery of electrical infrastructure for a major airport airfield development project. The role requires solid technical knowledge, effective coordination capabilities, and practical experience in electrical systems design and construction. The successful candidate will contribute to the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of airport electrical infrastructure while supporting overall project objectives.
Review and coordinate electrical designs for airfield and airport infrastructure projects.
Ensure compliance with applicable international standards, local regulations, airport requirements, and client specifications.
Review engineering calculations, technical reports, drawings, specifications, and design submissions.
Support design optimization, value engineering, and constructability reviews.
Coordinate electrical interfaces with other engineering disciplines.
Review power distribution systems serving airfield facilities and operational infrastructure.
Assist in the coordination of Constant Current Regulator (CCR) systems, transformers, cabling networks, and associated electrical equipment.
Verify compliance with airport operational and aviation safety requirements.
Support electrical system integration with navigational and operational airport systems.
Review low-voltage and medium-voltage distribution networks.
Coordinate electrical utility connections and interfaces with utility providers.
Support the review of substations, switchgear, transformers, standby power systems, and associated infrastructure.
Monitor electrical load calculations and system capacity requirements.
Assist in ensuring network reliability, redundancy, and operational continuity.
Provide engineering support during installation, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
Review contractor shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical queries.
Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with approved designs and specifications.
Monitor construction progress and identify potential technical issues affecting project delivery.
Support resolution of electrical design and construction challenges.
Coordinate with airport authorities, consultants, contractors, utility providers, and regulatory agencies.
Participate in technical workshops, design reviews, and multidisciplinary coordination meetings.
Support management of electrical interfaces with civil, mechanical, ICT, security, and airfield systems.
Assist in obtaining required approvals and authority clearances.
Support factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), and commissioning activities.
Review testing procedures, commissioning plans, and inspection reports.
Verify electrical system performance against project requirements and operational criteria.
Support defect resolution and final system handover.
Ensure electrical works comply with project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in inspections, audits, and quality reviews.
Monitor contractor compliance with approved procedures and construction methodologies.
Support implementation of quality management processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain records of design reviews, inspections, testing activities, and technical decisions.
Provide regular updates on engineering progress, risks, and project issues.
Support preparation of project closeout and asset handover documentation.
Promote a strong safety culture throughout project activities.
Ensure electrical designs and construction activities comply with airport safety regulations and HSE requirements.
Participate in risk assessments, safety reviews, and constructability evaluations.
Support sustainability and environmental compliance objectives.
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering discipline.
Professional certifications are an advantage.
Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, design review, construction supervision, or infrastructure delivery.
Experience on airport, airfield, transportation, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
Exposure to power distribution systems, airfield electrical systems, and utility coordination.
Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering environments.
Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and infrastructure systems.
Familiarity with airfield ground lighting systems and airport electrical infrastructure.
Knowledge of international electrical codes and standards.
Familiarity with AutoCAD, BIM platforms, and engineering coordination tools.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical review capabilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities within a dynamic project environment.
Experience working on airport development or airfield projects.
Knowledge of ICAO, FAA, IEC, NFPA, and airport electrical standards.
Familiarity with testing and commissioning of electrical systems.
Experience working under FIDIC or similar international contract frameworks.
Understanding of BIM coordination and digital engineering processes.
Professional engineering registration is an advantage.
Strong stakeholder management and coordination skills.
