Electrical Engineer

Location: Site-based near Gaborone
Contract Duration: 12 Months
Rotation: Site-based with periodic R&R

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer or Senior Construction/Project Manager to lead the construction and engineering governance of a major High Voltage (HV) Substation Project supporting a large copper mining operation.

This is a senior site leadership role responsible for coordinating a workforce of 200+ construction personnel, managing contractors, ensuring design compliance, and overseeing construction, commissioning, and project delivery.

Key Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 15 years' experience in engineering, construction, or project management.
• Proven experience on HV substation, power distribution, or electrical infrastructure projects.
• Strong mining, industrial, or heavy infrastructure project background.
• Demonstrated experience managing large site-based construction teams.
• Experience overseeing engineering design governance during project execution.
• Commissioning and energisation experience highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead site construction activities and contractor management.
• Ensure engineering designs are implemented in accordance with project specifications and standards.
• Coordinate engineering, construction, quality, safety, and commissioning activities.
• Drive project delivery, schedule adherence, and stakeholder engagement.
• Provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
