Site-Based Electrical Engineer / Construction Manager (HV Substation Project)
Location: Site-based near Gaborone Contract Duration: 12 Months Rotation: Site-based with periodic R&R
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer or Senior Construction/Project Manager to lead the construction and engineering governance of a major High Voltage (HV) Substation Project supporting a large copper mining operation.
This is a senior site leadership role responsible for coordinating a workforce of 200+ construction personnel, managing contractors, ensuring design compliance, and overseeing construction, commissioning, and project delivery. Key Requirements:
Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
Minimum 15 years' experience in engineering, construction, or project management.
Proven experience on HV substation, power distribution, or electrical infrastructure projects.
Strong mining, industrial, or heavy infrastructure project background.
Demonstrated experience managing large site-based construction teams.
Experience overseeing engineering design governance during project execution.
Commissioning and energisation experience highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead site construction activities and contractor management.
Ensure engineering designs are implemented in accordance with project specifications and standards.
Coordinate engineering, construction, quality, safety, and commissioning activities.
Drive project delivery, schedule adherence, and stakeholder engagement.
Provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
