Level up your career as an Electrical Engineer or Electrical EIT

This role will play a key part in our electrical design team implementing, repairing and maintaining electrical design for all Vidir products and automation systems.

  • Support product design from concept through production by participating in design reviews, hazard reviews, testing, and validation.
  • Review plans and collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet project specifications, while preparing BOMs, cost estimates, and equipment layouts.
  • Conduct electrical hardware and software testing, troubleshooting, calibration, and verification using appropriate electronic tools and software.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation including reports, calculations, drawings, schematics, and quality control procedures, ensuring records remain current and organized.
  • Support product deployment, installations, field investigations, and compliance reviews, including review of sales orders for compliance.
  • Maintain current engineering knowledge, participate in training, and demonstrate safe work practices in accordance with code requirements, internal policies, and Vidir’s Safety Management System and Continuous Improvement Programs.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor in Engineering – Electrical
  • Registration as either an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba, or eligibility for registration in Manitoba
  • Experience with Creo (preferred) and/or other CAD platforms such as AutoCAD or equivalent
  • Strong ability to develop and maintain electrical drawings and documentation
  • Technical and practical understanding of VFD, PLC and HMI, electrical motors and automation.
  • Practical use of multimeter, oscilloscopes, computers.
  • Troubleshoot and organizational skills, team worker, reading/understanding of electrical drawings and schematics, AutoCad or similar
  • Written and oral communication skills.

Equivalent Canadian engineering registration will be considered, provided the candidate can obtain either EIT or P. Eng. status in Manitoba
