Our client is expanding and currently has an opening for an Electrical Engineer. This addition will provide engineering expertise and support to estimating, project management, and customers as it relates to projects. The Electrical Engineer also provides support and expertise to the other members of the engineering teams. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Engineering.

This role will be onsite in Troy, MI

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Design and coordinate all power and lighting distribution systems meeting project specifications under the guidance of a Professional Engineer (PE) on staff
  • Manage and schedule 3D modelers/2D Drafters (VDC/BIM modelers)
  • Review, edit and write project specifications under the guidance of a PE on staff
  • Generate and/or review production submittals against project specifications under the guidance of a PE on staff
  • Assist in the estimating process for Electrical contractors by attending jobsite walk throughs, defining scope, and generating bill of materials
  • Complete other tasks and duties as assigned by management

Must have Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 3+ years experience with an electrical contracting company or Architectural/Engineering firm
  • Strong skills and proficient in Revit software
  • Proven experience with reviewing, editing, and writing project specifications
  • Experience with generating and/or reviewing production submittals against project specifications
  • Experience with walkthroughs, defining scope and generating bill of materials
  • Ability to travel 15% of the time to job sites in multiple local states
