Electrical Engineer

A leading renewable energy developer is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join their growing team delivering utility-scale energy projects across Africa. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful power generation and infrastructure projects in diverse and challenging environments.

The successful candidate will be involved in the design, execution, commissioning, and support of renewable energy installations, while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery.

Duties:

• Design and review electrical systems for renewable energy projects
• Support project execution from feasibility through to commissioning
• Conduct site inspections, testing, and troubleshooting activities
• Ensure compliance with electrical standards, regulations, and safety requirements
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and documentation
• Assist with grid connection and power system integration activities
• Provide engineering support during construction and operational phases

 
Minimum Requirements:

• BEng / BSc / BTech in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 3–7 years’ experience in power, renewable energy, or infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of MV/LV systems, substations, and power distribution
• Experience within solar, wind, hydro, or utility-scale energy projects advantageous
• Proficiency in electrical design software and technical reporting
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Valid driver’s license and passport

 
Important Requirement:

• Must be willing and able to travel extensively and work on project sites across Africa.
