Sound like a familia you're ready to join? Here's the details on what we are looking for in this position:

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Create, and modify one-lines, Cable Schedules, BOM, Layouts, relay panel arrangements, schematics, and cable lists for high voltage (32.4-500kV) substations.
  • Prepare/create engineering and construction estimate documents for the installation of new, or modifications to existing substations, including bill of materials, RTU list and electrical details.
  • Create/modify technical specifications for major substation equipment, such as power transformers, power circuit breakers and control house.
  • Develop system integration of protection, control and monitoring systems by coordinating with other engineers, as appropriate.
  • Provide engineering and construction support for projects.
  • Apply field mark-ups of the project as built-up drawings and perform basic calculations, such as: voltage drop, CT burden and saturation, lighting and short circuit…all with minimal supervision.
  • Up to 25% travel required.
  • Complete other duties as assigned, including a willingness to temporarily fill in for other roles/duties as required.


Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience, or 1 year of experience with master’s degree.
  • Passed FE exam or working towards it.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards, such as:  NEC, NESC, IEEE, NEMA and ANSI, is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communication skills.
  • Vehicle driver’s license for multi-state travel required.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel and AutoCAD a plus.
