Position Overview Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join a dynamic team in California. This role focuses on board-level and system-level hardware design for industrial automation products. The ideal candidate will be a key technical contributor, leading the design, development, and validation of PCB assemblies and complex electrical systems while shaping system architecture and influencing the technology roadmap.

Responsibilities
• Design and develop electrical circuits and systems for industrial control applications.
• Develop high-quality schematics and PCB layouts for robust and reliable systems, following BKM and DfX considerations.
• Hands-on prototype, build, test, integrate, troubleshoot, and verify designs.
• Collaborate closely with engineering and production teams, and with external partners.
• Assist with field and production support, including troubleshooting and failure analysis.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documents such as requirements, specifications, theory of operation, test plans and reports, release and change orders.
• Participate in project and tech roadmap planning, technical reviews, and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in circuit and system-level electronics development.
• Experience with mixed-signal, embedded, and power circuits.
• Proficiency in Altium and/or OrCAD for schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Familiarity with common communication protocols (SPI, I2C, RS-485, Ethernet, CAN).
• Familiarity with EMC/ESD, thermal and environmental design considerations.
• Experience with lab tools including oscilloscopes, logic, spectrum, power analyzers.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, self-driven and detail oriented.
• Experience designing systems for semiconductor tools or similar regulated industries (preferred).
• Experience with safety control, temperature control, motion control (preferred).
• Experience with Spice and Hyperlynx or equivalent for circuit, SI, PI simulations (preferred).
• Experience with EtherCAT and EtherCAT-based components and systems (preferred).
• Experience with FPGA development (Verilog/VHDL, simulation, P&R, optimizations) (preferred).
• Working knowledge of embedded SW (C/C++, Python) (preferred).
• Familiarity with safety and compliance standards (CE, UL, SEMI, IEC) (preferred).
• Familiarity with systems engineering principles (preferred).

Additional Details Pay Range: $135,000 - $155,000 per year
