Description
This position is responsible for following standard engineering operating procedures in the planning, implementation and repair of electrical equipment systems. This position requires a natural intellectual curiosity and strong organization, interpersonal and communication skills for industrial electrical equipment systems.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Prepare electrical designs, cost estimates, specifications, and equipment ordering on engineering projects.
• Provide technical services in the form of MOCs / Project to all departments to respond to any production related problems or needs.
• Development of electrical engineering standards and codes and maintain electrical records.
• Design and procurement of process related equipment and instrumentation.
• Assist with Process Safety Management tasks.
• Provide electrical design support to the entire plant.
• Write change controls for electrical changes as applicable.
• Coordinate activities with the project leader and the project team.

• Exceptional electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Above average written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated with good interpersonal skills.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Familiar with industrial electrical equipment and design.
• Familiar with instrument loop sheets, LAN switches & video security systems.
• Capable of maintaining plant power distribution book and DCS I/O registry.
• General industrial electrical skills: motors, motor starter, instrument calibration, smart transmitter (HART), DCS & general electrical construction.
• General knowledge of cGMP.
• Computer knowledge is required including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Possess positive interpersonal skills with the ability to present oneself with tact and diplomacy.
Level of Supervision Needed
• Accountable for reliable performance of North Augusta.
Autonomy and Supervisory/Lead Responsibility
• Presents solutions to leader and implements with proper approval.
Requirements
Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in electrical design and minimum 10 years industrial electrical experience.
• Industrial electrical design experience preferred.
• Electrical certificate at Tech/Trade School is preferred.
Safety/Essential Functions
• Adhere to plant safety requirements and plant policies. Promote a positive safety culture, leading by example.
• Adhere to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) requirements as applicable.
• Ensure all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Process Safety Management (PSM), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and cGMP regulations are followed.
• Must be capable of lifting and moving items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to climb and descend stairs.
• Must be able to work in an environment where chemical odors may exist at permissible threshold limits of exposure.
• Must be able to evacuate the plant, reporting to appropriate assigned muster point, in the event of an emergency or drill.
• Must be able to work with hazardous chemicals on a regular basis.
• Must be able to use all available or assigned personal protective equipment and tools.
