Qualdoc is hiring on behalf of Foley Material Handling, a leading manufacturer in Ashland, VA. We’re seeking a skilled Electrical Designer / Controls Engineer to join their growing team and take a lead role in designing electrical systems for heavy industrial electro-mechanical equipment.

You’ll be designing controls and schematics using AutoCAD Electrical, collaborating with engineers, and supporting production with your electrical expertise.
🔧 Key Responsibilities:
• Design electrical schematics, control systems, and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical
• Develop motor control systems for industrial equipment using AC/DC motors and VFDs
• Ensure all designs comply with NEC and UL standards
• Support manufacturing with electrical troubleshooting and design clarification
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers and technicians to meet project goals
• Maintain documentation of design changes, specs, and revisions
✅ Qualifications:
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Drafting/Design, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in electrical design using AutoCAD
• Hands-on experience with industrial motor control systems
• Familiar with NEC, UL, and best practices in electrical system safety
• Experience in manufacturing or electro-mechanical equipment a strong plus
