About the position
Responsibilities
• Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data relating to substation components and equipment specifications.
• Perform basic professional electrical engineering work related to the design of single line, three line, wiring diagrams, and substation layout.
• Provide entry-level technical assistance on design requirements, equipment sizing, and cabling.
• Assist in verifying site characteristics and providing technical assistance on engineering and construction procedures.
• Develop electrical calculations for loads, equipment sizing, and power distribution under close supervision.
• Generate complete and accurate documentation using electronic systems and field notebooks.
• Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures.
• Complete training on assigned tasks and perform additional responsibilities as required.
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 0 to 1 years of relevant post-education experience.
• Excellent research skills with an analytical mindset.
• General understanding of electrical engineering as applied in design engineering of large capital projects.
• Familiarity with relevant engineering and electrical construction laws, codes, and regulations.
• Competent interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail and ability to prioritize responsibilities.
• Ability to work independently under general supervision and as part of a team.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing and office automation tools.
• Familiarity with discipline-specific design software such as CADD, Aspen, and CAPE.
Nice-to-haves
• Recent graduate or May 2024 Graduate in an accredited Electrical Engineering program.
• 0-3 years of internship experience in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience using REVIT or AUTOCAD.
