Do you have a passion for invention and self-challenge? As part of our Battery Engineering group, craft creative battery solutions that deliver more energy in smaller spaces than ever before. We work across disciplines to transform improved hardware elements into a single, integrated design. Join us, and you’ll help us innovate new battery technologies that continually outperform the previous iterations. By collaborating with other product development groups across Apple, you’ll push the industry boundaries of what batteries can do and improve the product experience for our customers across the world!

In this role, you will utilize your electronics design skills to design, develop and test battery monitoring units and Battery management units (BMU) for next generation consumer electronic products. Responsibilities include designing electronic circuits, producing detailed design analysis, selecting electronic parts and integrated circuits to meet the performance targets. You will work with suppliers to develop custom parts where needed and design test methodologies to verify the battery management unit design!

Design BMU from concept to mass production focusing on detailed board level design\\nPush the boundaries of technologies to maximize performance and minimize volume\\nCollaborate with multi-functional partners (Product Design, System EE, Cell Engineering, Firmware, Algorithms, etc.) to ensure the product is developed on time and on budget\\nConduct investigations and prepare reports for problems or issues\\nDevelop Schematics and BOMs to satisfy the design requirements\\nDevelop layout guidelines for PCBs and guides Layout Engineers to meet all physical and electrical requirements of BMU\\nSpecify custom parts and PCBs for use in BMUs\\nAnalyze the design with simulation tools and calculations to verify its conformance to the requirements. (PSPICE, ANSYS, Verilog or equivalent)\\nConduct design validation on prototypes to implement the design\\nConduct design reviews, incorporate team feedback and release the design documents for builds\\nSpecify production test plans and limits and work with CM partners to realize design

Bachelor"s in Electrical Engineering or relevant field of study\\nExperience in analog and/or power electronics design\\nExperience in electronic circuit design/development with mixed signal systems or relevant

10+ years of proven experience with a Master"s in Electrical Engineering or relevant field of study\\nBackground in any of the following: Power Electronics, Battery Management (fuel gauge and charger), Portable Consumer Electronics, Medical Electronics, Automotive Electronics)\\nExperience with high volume manufacturing\\nKnowledge of one or more scripting (Python, Shell, Unix, MATLAB, etc.) for test automation and data analysis desired\\nUnderstanding of the silicon manufacturing process and how semiconductor devices and associated parasitic sub circuits are created is preferred\\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills and experience presenting data to cross-functional teams and/or management\\nDetail oriented and strive for product excellence
