Tiello is partnering with an advanced Cybersecurity Hardware Engineering Firm focused on cutting-edge defense technology to identify an experienced ASIC Design Engineer to join their high-performing team in Boise, ID or Salt Lake City, UT.

This role is ideal for a highly skilled engineer with a passion for digital architecture, hardware security, and purpose-driven work that impacts real-world national defense challenges. You’ll work alongside a tight-knit team of innovators designing secure system-on-chip architectures, crypto cores, and hardened CPUs that help secure the future of military systems.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
• Collaborate with technical leads to define real-world problems and architect innovative solutions - not just surface-level fixes.
• Refine and optimize the microarchitecture of IP cores to improve power efficiency, security functions, I/O performance, area utilization, and cost.
• Implement IP blocks in SystemVerilog and VHDL, and simulate at both unit and system levels.
• Integrate proprietary and third-party IP into complex SoC designs.
• Drive the complete design lifecycle from specification through to silicon production.
• Deploy secure IP into ASIC and FPGA environments for field-ready applications.
• Apply test-driven development and state-of-the-art engineering practices to ensure reliability, repeatability, and scale.
• Work alongside a collaborative and technically elite group of engineers solving high-stakes challenges in national defense.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
• U.S. Citizenship (required) and ability to obtain a security clearance
• Strong background in FPGA or ASIC design, including RTL coding, simulation, synthesis, and timing closure
• Proficiency with SystemVerilog, VHDL, and verification methodologies
• Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Knowledge of digital architecture, IP development, and SoC integration
• Experience with constrained-random, formal verification, and hardware validation
• Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
• A meticulous eye for detail and a no-ego approach to team problem-solving

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• 3+ years of hands-on ASIC development experience
• Active or recently held U.S. Security Clearance
• Experience with FPGA-based prototyping or emulation of complex RTL
• Exposure to cybersecurity, cryptographic design, or secure embedded systems
• Knowledge of secure operational technology (OT) and embedded system defenses
