JOB SUMMARY:
The Electrical Engineer must be a highly motivated, hands-on, self-driven team player that can perform in a dynamic prototyping environment. The preferred candidate will be able to bring a fresh perspective to the design team and have a strong desire for innovation. The preferred candidate will be an Electrical Engineer with broad technical knowledge base to support the development and design of all facets of the flight simulator platform.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain electrical systems and processes to support new and existing commercial and military aircraft flight simulator trainers
• Alter and/or modify designs to meet specified functional and operational performance requirements
• Confer with peers and stakeholders to implement new designs, resolve system operation errors, and implement procedures
• Create new electrical design documentation including cable drawings, parts lists, wire lists, system prints, operation manuals, and maintenance manuals
• Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of designs to ensure that equipment and systems are installed and functioning according to specifications
• Create and present design engineering data for internal and customer design reviews
• Research and analyze data, such as customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
• Establish and coordinate the maintenance and safety procedures, service schedule, and supply of materials required to maintain equipment and systems in prescribed condition
• Assist with cost estimation and preparation of contract documents
• Write performance requirements for product development or engineering projects
• Keep current on future technologies and products to determine where and how such products can be incorporated into designs
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree required in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Less than 2 years of professional experience in a relevant role.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Familiarity with hardware and electrical system design and test processes
• Must have experience designing and specifying power requirements, loads, I/O interfaces, COTS component selection, cable design, and system wiring
• Knowledge of aviation terminology preferred
• Previous simulation industry experience preferred
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, interpersonal)
• Strong interpersonal relations skills
• Able to simultaneously work on multiple projects
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
• Resourceful/problem solver
• Able to quickly adapt to change
• Self-confidence and initiative
• Able to work independently and in a team environment
