Internship Opportunity

Thales Defense & Security, Inc. has an opening for an intern within the Manufacturing Test Engineering department for 8 weeks during the summer. This position will be responsible for entry-level assignments that provide exposure to electrical engineering.

Responsibilities
• Work directly with a mentor in the Electrical Hardware design field on technical assignments with basic complexity.
• Participate in production test activities including test fixture maintenance, outfitting production with equipment and fixtures, and changes to test process/software to increase production yield.
• Learn how to improve test processes, test capacity, and minimize operator resources.
• Assist the team to improve test software to impact production test yield, reduce test time, increase capacity, and eliminate false failures.
• Provide technical support to engineers and scientific staff in design and development projects.
• Gather and analyze data or information in support of engineering research.
• Document and communicate results of technical data generated.
• Share technical information and promote open dialogue.
• Attend relevant seminars, facility tours, and interact with other students.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
• US Citizenship Required.
• May be selected for work that requires ability to obtain and maintain US Secret Level Security Clearance.
• Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college and have completed at least 2 semesters within Electrical Engineering.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Must be proficient in English both verbal and written.
• Ability to move/lift/configure equipment of 30-40 pounds with or without assistance.
• Must be able to comply with Thales policies, procedures, and guidelines.
